Into the Blu

It wasn’t all that long ago when my girlfriend presented me with a book titled, The Kite Runner by Khaled Mosseini.  Folks, I am not much of a reader so when I got this, I had every intent of reading it but I was hard-pressed to conjure the motivation to do so.  With me, books are kind of like artwork.  It’s difficult to buy someone a painting that you like and expect them to like it as well.  Everybody’s tastes are different.  But, the lass knows me well and in the end, I enjoyed the book tremendously.  Shortly after finishing it, I had heard it was being made into a film and I reserved my opinion until I could see it.  Well, here it is on the finest format around…Blu-ray!  How does this film, that flew below the radar for many out there, measure up in high definition? OK…here’s my tagline that I am likely to repeat again…Bond is back…meaner, badder and better than ever!  If you missed Quantum of Solace in the theatre, then have no fear as nothing compares to seeing a movie for the first time on the Blu-ray format.  That just gave me an interesting advertising idea.  For promotional purposes of course, Sony should produce a parody of Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares to U” entitled “Nothing Compares to Blu.”  What do you think?  No need to answer that as I will shut up and get back to the main reason we are even here.  That reason obviously being the celebration of the newest adventure of everyone’s secret agent spy, 007 James Bond, on the Blu-ray format.   Without further a do, I present you Daniel Craig’s second outing, in the 22^nd film of the James Bond franchise, titled Quantum of Solace, the only sequel ever in Bond film history.  Let’s take a closer look to see why this was one of the best action films of 2008.
